iWatch Series 3 compatibility? #519

Is Watch For Tesla not compatible with Series 3 iWatch? Issues:

  1. The two (2) available watch faces in the app return this error: "Watch Face Unavailable this watch face is not available on your Apple Watch". The watch is on software version: 8.7.1.
  2. How do I make any of the watch displays that are presented on your web site appear on my watch?
  3. How do I add Watch For Tesla complications to any of my other watch faces? None appear available.

Thank you for your help.

Yea, it is compatible - for now. Keep in mind that the watch is deprecated from support from apples side, and some time next year when watchOS 10 releases, I will deprecate watchOS 8 support. So you have essentially 10 months of support left.

The series 3 does not support the modern watch faces, which are the sample watch faces shipped with the app. Keep in mind, these are only samples - not practically usable. You should build your own watch face with the complications you want. Probably the status one will be your go-to.

If the complications are not available from the Apple Watch app on your phone, please configure your watch face directly on your watch - they can often take a long time or even get stuck, syncing across to your phone. Most legacy complication slots are supported with most complication types.

Thanks so much for the fast reply! Courtesy of your directions, I was able to get the app up and running on my soon-to-be obsolete Series 3 device.
