The Microsoft support for the tools (which are supposedly new and improved) don't support the database stuff in precisely the same way. To get around this go to Application Setting. Look at the database connection string section and click on Use Default. When you click OK this problem should go away. I will take a look later tonight. I haven’t been able to get much computer time in in the last week or so. Too much going on around here.

I think that I responded previously on this area. I will put up a version that corrects the database connection string automatically. If you haven’t already you can correct the area by going to Tools/Application Settings and pressing the “Use Default…” under SQL Connection String”
.Strange that the
error message mentions C:\Onguardv2 when that's not where it's
Re: c:\OnGuardv2 – That is the location where it was built on my machine. It has nothing to do with yours. This just helps me track down the source of any errors.
installed.Earlier I had turned on "Use XML data", but then OnGuard crashed and I had to do a partial setup again (setup DeepStack IP, email and one camera), I was then able to turn off "Use XML data", restart, and then all of my other cameras appeared.
Yes, this is a limitation. You can startup using the non-XML settings, turn on the XML settings, go into cameras, and then the cameras and areas will be saved in the XML format. Some of the other settings are the same way. The AI connections do need to be re-entered manually.
Also "Areas of interest" do not display when
no image exists for that camera (even after taking a snapshot from Live)—
Yes, you will need to have at least 1 “real” picture. The snapshot won’t do it. I don’t think that this has changed since 1.8.x, but I could be wrong.

Everything seems OK with the latest release, although I haven't tried the xml storage yet, I'll stick with the registry.
I thought that it copied the current settings to an xml file.
Thanks for all of your work, Alan
