First of all: thanks for this extension. I still miss the amazing-but-not-working-anymore Mouseless Browsing, so when I found this extension I rejoiced. It looks like the extension that could eventually reach or surpass the Mouseless Browsing – but not there yet.
There are generally two things that I miss:
There are too few shortcuts for efficient navigation. For people with tenless keyboards issue #68 already covers a part of the solution. For people using numeric keyboards it would deserve additional shortcuts, e.g., for going back or forward in the history, so that it could be possible to control basically whole navigation just with the numeric keyboard. For instance, I used * for going back, / for going forward, + for opening the link in a new tab, - for opening the link in a new tab in background and Enter for opening the link in the current tab. See? Browsing easily and more quickly with the numeric keyboard than with a mouse.
It would be nice to have a shortcut to toggle displaying link shortcuts (plus the option for the initial state for new tabs). Now, when I want to see link shortcuts, I have to press the shortcut to show the numbers and after opening the link, the numbers are hidden again. Moreover, I have to specify whether I want to open the link in a new tab before even seeing the numbers. It's really bothering. I often open links in new tabs in background and I was used to pressing repeatedly the numbers and - (my shortcut for opening a link in a new tab in background) to open interesting links as I read through the page. And when the numbers disturbed me, I just pressed . (my shortcut for toggling them) and they hid. Nice and easy.
So, I'm really grateful for this extension, I like it more than browsing with a clumsy touchpad, but it can't replace my mouse yet. And I hope it will some day! 🥇
