Just to be entirely clear on what you mean - you would like an option, entitled
'Omit
Externals' which will cause anything in libs/ to be ignored when extracting the
upgrades/installs?
Shall do.

I want to second this. It is a feature of WAU I was looking forward to in MAU.

Kev, you *can* download zips from the update site that do not have externals..
for example. the no-ext version of ACP release is found at
http://files.wowace.com/ACP/no-ext/ACP-r29333.zip
so and so forth for all of them.

If I can make a suggestion, it might be wise to check for the stand-alone when
omitting externals. So that you still end up with all the needed files.

Wouldn't something like "Use Standalone Libs (if available)" be a clearer name
for this feature?
It's not clear that what you are saying by "Omit Externals" is actualy omit
internal libs if you find them as
externals...
I had to think about it for a bit thinking, Why would I want to omit the
externals (as in the standalone lib) if I
want to use them?

I noticed the other day that there are actually 2 RSS feeds for
files.wowace.com, one looks like it's the externals
versions? (where you also install the Libs somehow one time)
the default one built in.
feed://files.wowace.com/latest.xml
and this one.
