Need a progress bar when uploading images in Craft.

Isn't this really a duplicate of #11 ?

Well not really the way I see it. This one is specifically about a progress indicator, while #11 is about cutting down the time from an image is uploaded, to the thumbnail displays in the thumbnail browser.

An indicator that something is happening at all would be a great start.
