Hi. I find the problem and hints to be confusing for problem: calculating-the-median-from-data-displays/x0933ae6bbab4b015

The histogram itself was a bit unclear as the left side is not labeled.

Step 1 makes sense: turning histogram into a frequency table.
Step 2 does not make sense: turning people into data points. Why does each person get assigned as an increasing-value data point? Why are people in the 0-1 group designated as values 1,2 and 3, instead of 5,6 and 7 (or something else)?

Thank you.

We are looking for the median so the numbers (in this case intervals) have to be sorted.
