I'm using Linterna Magica to replace the Youtube player with
gecko-mediaplayer-1.0.7 and mplayer2-2.0_p20130126. I notice a lot of problems
with seeking however.
webm videos are not seekable at all. When I attempt to jump to (buffered)
position, it will immediately jump back to (roughly) where I was before seeking.
mp4 videos can be seeked, but only within the buffered portion. Should I seek
outside of that, the player immediately stops and resets to 0 (but keeps
buffering).
Both formats seek flawlessly when I open the content url directly in
gnome-mplayer.
