Additionally the OEM smartspace menu tells me no apps are using it
I don't think LineageOS has the required Smartspace code in SystemUI. You can check this by going to the Native Smartspace screen and seeing whether Lock Screen is shown as a compatible app, and whether it has supported types.
As for OEM Smartspace, that's normal - you'd need to install an app with support for it to show up. Neither LineageOS nor the Pixel Launcher support it.
It's showing in Pixel Launcher extended right now. It just doesn't consistently.
Also the expanded smartspace just sits on the logo forever here.
Please send a screenshot of the Native Smartspace screen with the lock screen compatibility list expanded so I can see whether there is actually anything wrong here.

yeah seems like they all failed :/
This isn't a bug then, sorry.
@KieronQuinn could you give a couple of pointers on what should be present in a ROM so that the lock screen Glance works? I could then make a PR with LinageOS to include it.

LineageOS won't accept it because it requires decompiled Pixel code. You need to run a Pixel OS style ROM.
Description
On LineageOS on my Pixel 6, smartspacer only applies to Pixel Launcher (extended) after I change any settings in smartspacer, and it never applies to the lock screen. I'm using Sui as the backend, no idea what's wrong here. Is there any logcat filter I should check?
