PPA is outdated #23

I haven't checked since around a month ago, but at that point the repository was a couple of commits behind - I still had to manually delete the pid file after unexpected terminations so it was probably most recently updated before Micha Gorelick's last commit.

I haven't updated the PPA in a while pending larger updates. After we get your refactor through the door I'll do so. :)

Looking to this tracker and the code, i see there are promising improvements in this repository which are not available in the PPA. Probably your are quite busy, but do you have maybe any change to update the PPA? That would be great! Or does the current code base need more testing? In that case I'm interested in running a checkout of this repository.

it needs more testing and review than I realistically have time for (apart from getting back into gtk programming). Any help is much appreciated :)
