Thank you for the quick response. Yes the new 64 bit version works for Ubuntu 13.04 64 bit. Could the ppa be updated to offer both 32/64 versions?
It might not be allowed to include the xflux binary in the PPA, since it is not a minor dependency and not open source. See: https://answers.launchpad.net/launchpad/+question/237445
