Boot Loop KK4.1 w/ Pixel Dust Rom #1

Open 0E800 opened 5 years ago

Tried KK v4.1 on Pixel Dust Pie ROM. Both times got a boot loop using 4.1

Did not get boot loop on 3.1.

Darian71 commented 5 years ago

I too kept getting the bootloop when flashing through TWRP. Tried EX kernel and flashed fine. Tried with magisk and without.with TWRP and without. With and without both, just kernel 4.1 but same result. Tried flashing with EX kernel manager, but wouldn't flash. However, I bought FK Manager, and it flashed first try. Lol. I have no clue why but since you are having the issue figured I'd comment. BTW, BEST version yet, sched gov,no init or blackened mod. Pixel XL Stock clean fastboot flash with February Security Patch.

Thank you @darian71

A user I can only identify as Taylor mentioned that he was able to resolve by flashing magisk after.

I resolved by booting to twrp, flashing kk4.1. Then rebooting back to twrp and flashing magisk.

I am currently making a new implementation of the flasher which uses the old skip_override parameter instead of the hexpatching method, hopefully, that works better. I'll do some testing on your issue. 4.3 will be the version that may have a fix if a problem exists

Good deal@0E800

Still odd for sure. I haven't checked the XDA thread today to see if anyone reported this.
bdashore3 commented 5 years ago

Also, 4.1 was a kinda rushed release because I had to merge feb patches

Darian71 commented 5 years ago

Thanks @bdashore3

Your work is MUCH appreciated for a PO- boy like myself. The extent of research involved us mind boggling at times to me but is yeilding fantastic results. Looking forward to trying blackened mod .
bdashore3 commented 5 years ago

@Darian71 BlackenedMod exists, but no longer has a custom kingkernel script nor am I co-developing it anymore. I'm letting the kernel run free and do what it wants to do, but I'm giving it the proper provisions via an init.rc

Ahhh. Thanks for the heads up. No telling how long I'd been scratching my head trying to get it to work. Next test will be schedutil vs sched then. 😂

bdashore3 commented 5 years ago

Sched's gone dude in 4.2

Darian71 commented 5 years ago

@bdashore3 not on 4.1. Lol. Both are working. Oops. Just read the email and didn't see you already stated 4.2. My bad 😁
