I find it so so that some options are in Settings, and not on the main screen.
The settings I would frequently change when exploring build and constantly switch between Factory and Settings are: Minimum assembler, Preferred furnace, Preferred belt, Preferred fuel and sometimes Primary fuel processing. I think these are crucial and should be shown at the top or in the corner right next to main input, probably as icons with tooltips, so it is obvious which ones are used, and can be quickly changed.
