1.03 new codelists - basic format

For 1.03 there are a number of additional codelists as shown in

I questioned a couple of features of these tables at the time;

• they show a code and a description - in current tables, an entry has a code, a name and an optional description - from Bill's response at the time, I gather that by description he means name. -
• the codelist names are inconsistant with the current codelist names. These do not include the authority in the name. The authority and related data is defined in the codelist metadata

I would agree that description, means name. Also I think you can have some freedom in picking codelist names etc. I think consistency over rules most other calls in this. So remove authority from the names, but please add to metadata. If changes here lead to better practice, but are not necessarily in all existing codelists, I think that would put us in a better situation.

With the issues on individual codelists, shall we make them issues here, or deal with them in the spreadsheet linked above?

I see that two of the lists are constraining the text of an element rather than a code value. Is this correct? It seems a rather confusing departure from the current approach.

This looks to me like the currently named CRS Loan Repayment Type and CRS Loan Number of Repayments per annum lists.

And you're right this does look odd. Those elements are still to be added to the XML schema (being assembled here: https://github.com/davidmegginson/iati-schemas/tree/1.03dev ), so I'll flag this up as an issue there. I suspect the codelists still need to be built, but that the XML schema may change.
