Contact made with Alan Stealey, Head of External Estates and Kevin Stuckey, Horticultural Manager Kevin provided a spreadsheet of data on 2,600 trees which have been parsed. This is the same data provided to BCC. However nearly 900 of them have incorrect os coordinates which places them in Wales. Kevin has been contacted.
Kevin and Alan contacted again re misplaced trees
Called Kevin - they are asking their data provider I tried a simple shift and this seems to have worked although some trees are misplaced
Discovered there are duplicate ids - arggggh
5 new locations need adding
Access to location would be a useful attribute to include
multiple duplicates have had a suffix added
Some trees have questionable locations- eg those on top of Senate house - need to let UoB know about them
request from kevin to export the revised data to pinpoint
need to merge in original data from the UoB data and then format to export
still not done the export ! ID duplication was a problem and still a number duplcated in the same site - also 2 trees out of position - contact Kevin
http://maps.bristol.gov.uk/pinpoint/ filtered on Environment and Planning - Trees - Bristol University only shows tree at certain locations, but a * search lists 'the first 1500 matching records...' elsewhere (e.g. Royal Fort Garden), even though they are not shown on the map layer.
The dataset cannot be copied of the site. maybe the data is on a separate dataset in https://opendata.bristol.gov.uk/Environment/?
