This is something to look into. Either disable formation or make light effect of the sun only on Niko. screenshot_29

Otherwise Alula looks like they hold something glowing, while Sun went out.

Yeah, party system needs an overhaul, but what you noticed here is actually a pretty interesting bug, nice catch!

Formation was enough of a chore just to implement the way we intended, it will not be removed. Setting the light source to pin on a specific actor may be a challenge, but is certainly important.
