5 years ago I've observed this also. It seems to happen mostly in combat, when opening the spell or special ability menus. You can restore the text by going to the main menu and back.
I have checked the following before submitting this issue:
Overview
Sometimes the font size is switching to what looks like 1px. (I opened Word for comparison.) More rarely italics or underline or boldness gets stuck as well, making all the text slanted, underlined or bold.
Game version
CoC_1.0.2_mod_1.4.14d , using flashplayer_31_sa downloaded from here: https://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/debug_downloads.html -> Windows -> "Download the Flash Player projector" Using Win10 x64. Using image pack.
Expected behaviour
Font size or other font characteristics should not change.
Actual behaviour
When pressing a button that prints new text (so like pressing a "next" button during a scene description), the text SOMETIMES changes to very small font size. The game can be continued and saved, but font size remains messed up until I close the flash player and open it anew. More rarely italics or underline can get stuck too, making all the text slanted or underlined instead. I think I saw combinations of all these too, but it's not that frequent, so I don't have a big sample pool. I use image pack, and when there is a picture when this happens, that gets stuck as well - any new images that are supposed to load appear below that stuck picture. (Text can be copied to notepad to make it readable, it seems to be what it's supposed to be, it's just the font size that is messed up.
How often can this be reproduced?
Doesn't occur that often, and I don't know what causes it, so I can't reliably reproduce it. Occurs around every few hours of gameplay? Doesn't seem regular.

I don't know what causes it, so I can't reliably reproduce it. Notable thing to mention is that I listen to youtube (sometimes several youtube tabs are open) on firefox next to it, I also have a facebook and gmail open, and I alttab relatively frequently between the game and the firefox, switching firefox tabs. It does happen even without alttabbing though.
