"rejecting" ghost text gets the editor into a broken state

steps to replicate is to

• Get some suggested text,
• Then blur focus on the editor by clicking in the scene.
• From there everything is weird, I noticed extra params, and undo and select all stopped working etc

I experienced this myself today fighting the editor to stop trying to insert text and eventually having to refresh the app
