The word is out, and I am partly responsible.

Any suggestions where to host it to avoid adding more administration load to 
Rainy? 
We could set up a Google Group.  That's more of a mailing list than a 
traditional
forum, but might do what you're looking for.

Possibly, but we Raineers have had no forum to speak of other than Deviant art.
I may have an idea, let me look into it over the next few days. I will be going 
into
knee surgery tomorrow, so I will need a little recvery time, and the chance to 
make a
couple of contacts.

and yes I spelled Raineers correctly.

It already exists if it is a provisional forum. And, the link has already added 
top
page in this project, too.
For the moment, that is the official forum of Rainmeter.

(However, though I also want a better community site of Rainmeter as much as 
you...)

I agree with Sanada, but at the same time, this is where the code needs to be 
built
and developer supported, not all knocked into by every possible individual taht 
has
an issue.

Raineers also need a place to go that they can show what they have done, create 
new
things, communicate with each other as a group,and help expand an excellent 
product.

I have been the sole support for a program for a couple of months now, and I am 
no
programmer, but I am happy to do it (all this on another site/software). I also 
cruse
the deviantart site and assist where I can with other folks that are loyal and 
like
rainmeter .

This site needs to be for the developers, with access from the public to see 
what is
happening and to address srious issues with the software, everyone else should 
get
bumped/recommended to a forum, where the community can try and help solve 
issues first.

Trust me when I say that this site is your black board, and you do not need more
hands in it than you can afford to handle. Only place items to the blackboard 
that
you can afford to handle, and let the forum community do the rest.
I have seen the fireboard at Rainlendar, and it seems that Rainy does most of 
the
help desk work, when he could be developing and training.

I could go on and on, and I am tired and rambling; apologies.
Give me a little time.
Requests for support are not over running yet, but it won't last.

For giggles you may see what has been done with rainmeter at deviantart. 
The support is there by a loose community that unfortunately has no 
cohesiveness.
It is almost impossible to assist the same call for help across 130+ customized
config builds.

At this point I will assume that all of you are in agreement for a forum.
Therefore I will gladly do leg work for you folks regarding this.

I like the format that Harris has chosen, but I would go with a lighter gray
background, almost hard to look at with an OLED screen.

I am waiting to hear back from one connection on forum space, and I will most
certainly look closer at Forumer.
I would appreciate any other suggestions.

Last Note:
I can also get the word to several periodicals about the re-birth of rainmeter, 
but I
would not do so at this point until we have somewhere for folks to go. Know that
there are several communities awaiting a rainmeter return, but I have not told 
them
yet. I have leaked this location little by little to deviantart. Also CNet,
PCMag.com, and computerworld would be interested in taking a look at what is
happening, but when the word really gets, out expect a whammy.
Of course I could be wrong

Myself, Rorix, and JMHarris looked into a couple of sites yesterday, so far for 
a
free platform/service forum I am thinking Forumer is probably the best.
Although there are numerous software packages available, unfortunately funds 
are all
but out of the question. 

So I am thinking a free solution to help for now, and see if I can scrape the 
funds
to get a domain name for a couple of years.

That is where we are now.
If you have any suggestions, let us know

After careful consideration, I must say I have found some wonderful software 
for a
correct forum, but I have found no free hosting solution that would fit our 
needs.

Of all the forum solutions out there I have found
http://www.simplemachines.org/about/copyright.php to be the best, but then I 
need a
hosting solution.

I will look further into this, but any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

and have yet to receive the confirmation e-mail. So I can not say one way or the

Ok, Folks I think that Harris settled it for us.

apparently we will need to go with the following forum:
http://www.rainmeter.co.cc

if the information retrieved regarding usage of this forum is all correct, it 
will
allow us to expand as needed, and take the DB with us at a later date if 
necessary.

Stability maybe an issue, but hey we are just getting started here.

Now need to dress the forum in something appropriate, a good Banner, and 
starting
threads.

Update here:
 One of the few things we agree unanimously on is that we need all the developer here
to register to the new forum site.

We have created a "group" especially for the developer here at the coder site.
Once you have created your usernames, let myself, JMharris (DragonMage), or 
Rorix,
know and we will lock you into the developer group. You can drop any of us a PM 
once
signed in.

Also we would appreciate your time and input to the forum. We are feeling that 
we are
getting to a final solution that we will be goign with, but would like your 
input,
and especially Rainy, since you may consider forum threads that we have missed.

help budding developers and assist in their creations of unofficial plugins and
Config skins. I think the morale boost alone would be worth wild.

Immediately though; your logging/locking in a username and forum design input

be greatly appreciate as we are fixing to go "Live". Once this is done, we would
advise you folks here at the developer site, and have you post to the various
appropriate pages links to the IRC and Forum, and redirect folks that post 
issues to
the forum as appropriate in order to assist in keeping the load down here, and 
clean
off unneeded noise.

Also we are working on implementing a way to get information to the Issue room, 
that
needs to be there, we have yet to decide if redirecting folks directly to the 
issue
center, or if we collect the necessary data, and then deliver the information
ourselves; input regarding this would be greatly appreciated.

Another idea in the works would require your approval here. We were considering 
a
suggestion & poll forum to identify the most requested plugins. We would then 
pass
that request on to you. No time frame has been established, but I was thinking a
quarterly poll. I know at this time  that something like this would increase 
the work
load, but I think it to be worth wild, and with this type of post any of you 
could
drop in and see what the interests are at any time.
Again, your input and or approval would be required.

remember folks, this is your forum too, and we are happy to handle the admin 
and what
ever else comes along, that we can, but your input and involvement are always 
welcome.

Update:

Apparently NiteShdw has kindly donated hosting space for our new forum.
And Rainy you know this individual, he is the same individual that donated the
Wireless plug-in package.

I was able to contact him yesterday, and he is hot on us to get into gear.

If you have questions, Rorix may have the details, as he just dropped the 
hosting on
me 5 minutes ago (LOL)

We have some Magic going here, we are currently transferring the forum to a new 
host,
graciously donated by NiteShdw.

We have an idea, and it would require Rainy's ok, apparently www.Rainmeter.net 
is
owned by Rainy, and this Idea would require access to the domain

Would it be possible to utilize this domain, direct it to and intro page?
That intro page would then have links to the code site here, the forum, and a
possible IRC link.

It would solve a number of issues!

this time.

Next step:
finding or have made a solution 
That can be integrated or attached to the forum/host
That is infinitely searchable, small and to the point

Several ideas have already been put forth on the forum
