here's some basic code (uncompiled/untested as usual) to open the start
menu and show/hide the taskbar, originally by ChrisNSoft, but modified for
function use by me...  once custom bangs are supported, i'm, imagining one
plugin that will supply info regarding the tray and taskbar, and allow
opening the start menu, so we can fully replace the desktop interface.

BTW, in case I forgot to mention it, Christian Salmon has given permission for 
this
code to be used in open source projects
