Transcoding these files or doing max-merge gives issues with these files #571

Here's a couple files I got from a collaborator. I can load and visualize them, but when I do max-merge or transcode into optimized TIFF, they give maximum values everywhere. Is there some problem with the file?

One thing I'm noticing: in max-merge, the values seem to be floating point (see the pixel value near the channel)

@manthey So… the transcoding works fine now, but the max-merge still seems to give the same error for some reason.
