I saw a presentation today where the speaker called out software that puts an opacity slider in its registration viewer UI. He made a good point: seeing the image smoothly change from target to registered-moving is actually the opposite of what we want, because we want to be able to detect the movement with our eyes in order to get a sense for any remaining misalignment.
