As of the data collected 26-8-21, better understanding of the software's capacity has led to the use of slightly different search terms, as listed below:
This reduces the number of search terms, making data collection easier, while still collecting the same data. In addition, it allows us to examine the networks of "drug discovery", "open science" and "open source" more holistically. Many tweets that contain one of these search terms will contain both the separate words and a hashtag, so collecting tweets for each iteration separately was leading to overlapping data.

About
This project is looking at the Twitter networks that "talk about mycetoma research" and specifically those which discuss anti-mycetoma drug discovery. We hope to examine the place of the @MycetOS Twitter account in the anti-mycetoma drug discovery community, and to determine ways to improve the account's reach so that it can be used effectively to both disseminate research conducted in the open source drug discovery community and attract new collaborators.
Data Collection Protocol
Data collection began on 19-08-2021 and will be repeated on a weekly basis for an undetermined period.
NodeXL's "Twitter Search Network" function was used to search for a total of 8 terms (see: search settings). The metrics collected for each term were:
NB. An explanation of some of these terms can be found here.

List of terms searched:
All terms except "mycetoma" were searched using the Twitter User Network 01 - standard worksheet option with automated graph metric calculation. The term "mycetoma" was searched using the Twitter User Network 02 - large worksheet option.
Data was collated in a Google sheet and can be accessed here. (This link allows comments only). Blank columns mean that no data was found for this search term on the date of collection.
