Reaction scheme

KBS38 - NBS reaction on 2-acetyl-6-bromopyridine

Outcome

2.794 g, of which 2.747 is calculated to be product (98% conversion, 95% yield)

  1. Dissolved SM (2.0063 g, 10.0 mmol) in MeCN (300 mL)
  2. Added tosic acid (2.60 g, 1.5 equiv.) and NBS (2.15 g, 1.2 equiv.)
  3. Left stirring at 82 C from 10 am

TLC at 6pm indicated reaction was not complete.

See #120. Used 200 mL DCM, water and brine washes were 150 mL each.
