  1. Dissolved 2.4955 g of 1-naphthylamine (17.4 mmol) in HCl (3.4 M, 17.5 mL)
  2. Put on ice
  3. Added NaNO2 (1.5637 g, 22.7 mmol, 1.3 equiv.)
  4. Stirred on ice for 20 minutes

abandoned until further notice. appears to have product but multiple columning attempts have failed to separate it.
