  1. Dissolved 1,8-diaminooctane (515 mg, 3.58 mmol) in chloroform (30 mL)
  2. Added Boc anhyride (1.8 mL, 7.87 mmol, 2.2 equiv.) dissolved in chloroform (6 mL)
  3. Left stirring from 11 am. Amine was not completely dissolved.

  1. TLC'd at 9.30 and found SM mostly consumed.

MeOH with ammonium:DCM = 5:95

  1. Removed most chloroform by rotovap
