made code to compress knead data

[ ] Compress other fast files using checkpoints

[ ] maybe: could we have a smaller test data set because running each addition takes a bit long

How did the last week go?

Vanja wants me to think & ask Kevin about taking a break: maybe stop working end of July and then start again with computational work in the fall (talk to Vanja/Kevin about a new project for fall in mid-July)
