Rogue AA short duration buff being chain-casted #76

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Setup "Thief's Eyes" as a CombatBuff in a rogue INI file
2. Engage in combat.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The rogue will constantly recast this buff over and over with no delay until
they are out of endurance.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
eqlive, win7 64bit, 5.1.33 (r7)

Please provide any additional information below.

I thought that this was a bug as well but in rereading the help documentation
it seems that combat buffs are cast all the time even in combat... rather than
only in combat.

It would be cool if you could set buffs for only when in combat as well...
maybe Killians is working on that for the next release.

Yes they are casted in combat, but my point was that it wasn't waiting until
the buff expired before casting it again. I made edits to the e3 files I have
in order to fix this.

Also, I'm not seeing what u described, where they would cast CombatBuffs all
the time. I use it successfully to only cast stuff like panther or other short
duration buffs and it works as you'd expect. I don't recall if this too was an
edit I made or if it worked out of the box.

I use e3 on the live servers so I've had to make a good number of edits to keep
it functioning.

Sorry for the misinformation - I am still learning the macro myself having just
picked up EQ again after a few years.

It appears that my combat buffs are working as they should (only casting during
combat). Perhaps I needed to restart my PC (and MQ2, etc) to get it to work
correctly instead of just restarting the macro.
