Wyoming State Library Missing Thumbnails for edm:preview #36

The Wyoming State Library's hosting system does not currently provide thumbnails of the objects that they include in their XML export.

The majority if not all of the WSL's items are textual so if there is no preview DPLA will accept that and supply their own generic thumbnail. It's more that what they are providing for Is shown At is just a PDF of a document rather than an actually metadata record. Here is an example of what Amy and I are seeing for their Is Shown At, http://pluto.state.wy.us/awweb/pdfopener?md=1&did=4937022. For DPLA to accept this record, Is shown at needs to a metadata record not the PDF they are currently supplying. The questions is whether this is something that we can even fix or is it a limitation of their system?

Below is what Travis said about the stable url. Given the time frame for the fix we should proceed without their records but plan on the for the next ingest.

The problem I see right now is time to replace the PDF links with the link above. We are working on a upgrade to Knowvation and bringing another State collection online. I spoke with Jamie about the timetable, we are looking at mid May to first part of June, when we could have all of the PDF links replaced with the new link structure. We only need to replace the first part of the link and leave the Document ID number at the end._
