I use the paid version of BlackPlayer and am enrolled in the beta. My phone is a Pixel 2XL, currently running Pie with the January security update.
Up until some time in late October or November, information about the currently playing song would be displayed by my car display. (It's a Prius Prime Advanced, which besides the larger screen is basically the same as all of the 4th gen Prius models.) But after some update the song information was either shown as blank or as "(unknown)". I had assumed this was due to an Android update or some issue with my car, but after spending some time clearing things out and re-pairing the phone and the car, I happened to try Google Play Music and it has no issues showing song titles.
I'm not sure if there's any way to move back through previous releases to isolate the version where this stopped working, but I would try it if I could get the old packages. My guess is that it happened with 20.44 or maybe 20.45.
Thanks for BlackPlayer and thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide.
