Tuya TS011F (TZ3000_typdpbpg) powers off #11648

Closed phoxy84 closed 2 years ago

phoxy84 commented 2 years ago

What happened?

When I use the device they shut down suddenly. This happens maybe once every one or two days. Don't know if it is a Z2M issue or a problem with the plug.

I have four of them, all have the same problem.

I made an automation to power the device on automatically but that cannot be the solution :) Schermafbeelding 2022-02-28 om 11 35 22

What did you expect to happen?

The plug just stays on.

How to reproduce it (minimal and precise)

I don't know. Just power on the device and wait.

It does not work. Sorry to give you false hope.... Last night one of my sockets turned off. Took longer than usual but that's not ok

diegogarciadev commented 2 years ago

I've 4 plugs connected to tuya bridge, 2 of them has been auto powered off, the other 2 ones are still on...

phoxy84 commented 2 years ago

I ordered a cc2531 and will try to sniff traffic from and to the Tuya bridge.

RHAD1969 commented 2 years ago

@phoxy84 Since different bridges (from different vendors) have the same problem, I think we can better focus on the firmware, as @jar87 already suggested. The question is: where to find the source code?

meganiekje commented 2 years ago

I have send Wim3D a message, he is able to write his own firmware for the Sonoff version of this plug. Maybe he wants to/can help.

RHAD1969 commented 2 years ago

@diegogarciadev

Did you managed to upgrade to 1.0.12?

And if you have upgraded, how did you obtain the software (because I cannot find an update in Zigbee2MQTT nor on my SMART-BRIDGE10 for the smart plugs).

Did it fix the issues?

Masterz69 commented 2 years ago

In my case device is TS011F_plug_1 (_TZ3000_typdpbpg). No update available through Tuya bridge.

As far I see from logs and voltage graph - plug goes to OFF as soon it reports 0V on input. Is it hardware or software issue - can't determine.

But looks 'power outage memory' setting (set to ON) have no effect, so software does not recognize situation as power loss/recovery. IMHO.

meganiekje commented 2 years ago

Win3D told me, he did have a similar problem on a wifi device: if the device lost its connection, the watchdog timer timed out, while the device tries to restore the connection. On watchdog timeout, the devi ce reboots, and the relay powers off. This could also result in a wrong first measurement of the voltage.

phoxy84 commented 2 years ago

I tried with Tuya bridge, device shuts off then as well.

I'm thinking about to buy another type of plugs..

I've seen this one: https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_vOJhNI

Can you tell me if there are any other model with the same problem? I don' want to waste my money...

I finally bought those from LEXMAN/ADEO/LEROY MERLIN in 16A. There are working fine. No issue since I bought them 10 days ago.

@navycrow : could you please provide a link to the LEXMAN/ADEO/LEROY MERLIN in 16A ? I am unable to find the zigbee version of that plug. Also the plug, this one: https://www.zigbee2mqtt.io/devices/LDSENK02F.html Does not expose voltage and amps, as far as i can see.. Please correct me if i'm wrong....

navycrow commented 2 years ago

I bought them here in France at Leroy Merlin There are recognized as ADEO LDSENK02F They support ON/OFF and power metering and energy consumed I don't know if they support voltage and current (clusters are valid but reports 0 - maybe with an update) They support power_outage_memory (ON/OFF working in dev mode). I didn't find for RESTORE. image These sockets have 2 years warranty and seems very good quality.

Ok, so after update with tuya gateway it shows power consumption in HA?

ArtJames commented 2 years ago

Ok, so after update with tuya gateway it shows power consumption in HA?

No

I paired TS011F_plug_3 (Homeassistant/Z2M) Removed it from Z2M and updated using a Tuya Gateway. (1.05 -> 1.10) Paired it again with HA/Z2M, now its identified as TS011F_plug_1. It shows no power consumption at all, Watt & Amps only from time to time after powercycle.

diegogarciadev commented 2 years ago

@jar87 @ArtJames, You can get the power consumption in HA by adding this snippet into configuration.yaml

sensor:
  - platform: integration
    source: sensor.plug_1_power
    name: Power Consumption 1
    unit_prefix: k
    round: 2

Strange i've 4 TS011F_plug_1 with firmware 1.0.10 and i have power, energy, current working with no problem. try to put 0 in the third column. It resolves all for me. image

Scaaro commented 2 years ago

I received an update to 10.0.12, but unfortunately the problem still persists 🙁.

diegogarciadev commented 2 years ago

I think power lost status can be related with the problems, I haven't modified the status after first join to the app and the plug is still powered on. By default is off

nickles-lee commented 2 years ago

They pushed v1.0.12 to my device

Can someone get the firmware URL and check it into the repo for OTA updates with z2m?

Impact123 commented 2 years ago

I just checked and there's no 1.0.12 update available through the Smart Life app. I assume they pushed this specifically for their device.

jstott1070 commented 2 years ago

I have the same issue but now believe the switching to be caused by external interference. Found out today that I can trigger this type of switch with my gas hob ignition. Guess the test would be to take an plug that is suffering from the "self" switching issue and shielding it externally to see if it remains on. Obviously any such external shielding would also render the plug useless as far as use with HA but as a test it would be interesting to find out if the issue is external rather than Firmware related.

MattWestb commented 2 years ago

tuya is normal making good shielded Zigbee modules (SonOff is doing the opposite) but RF can also being injected on other PCB parts and going inside the module.

If some brave user like testing wrapping the plug with aluminium folic but not the pins for the power and grounding it on the ground connection. If it was possible making one complete Faraday Cages then the device shall working without problem (but its loosing the radio connection with the Zigbee network),

nversluis commented 2 years ago

I agree with the HW interference theory.

I never experienced any issues until I moved the switch from my wall outlet to a power bar. Now it switches off daily. Very disappointing, considering I had just ordered 2 more (although the new ones are the 20A variant, not 16A, so there may yet be hope).

I guess that's what I get for beginning to trust AliExpress products, now I'm most likely stuck with €50 of instant e-waste...

to test whether the interference is external or internal, I have made a lot of sparks by shorting an electric fly swatter. the plugs just stay on. that would mean that the disturbance comes in via the 230 volts, from a switching refrigerator motor for example...

meganiekje commented 2 years ago

I made a setup, with 2 plugs in the same socket as my freezer. This way I can test whether the dips in the current and voltage measurements coincide with the switching of the motor of the freezer.

MattWestb commented 2 years ago

@meganiekje Then the Zigbee module is not the receiver of the RF interference but its coming in the PCB thru bad filtered power lines to the module. Perhaps putting one RF filter on the 230V then very likely is the freezer is not playing nice and sending plenty interference and socket is not having enough filters implanted for handling it OK.

FlatulentCow commented 2 years ago

I've 3 of these plugs and all 3 turn off randomly but always at different times. Two of them are plugged in to a double socket next to each other and the third is plugged into a socket that is on a different MCB. Every time they disconnect, the voltage shows 0v for a second. All my noisy appliances or on a separate circuit. I can't think of any other possible 'noisy' electrical devices that I've got that could be the cause.

The freezer motor has a 5 minute on, 8 minute off cycle. One plug turned itself off, but it wasn't when the freezer motor turned on or off. I'll run the setup for a while, and see if I can spot a pattern. @jstott1070 : can you explain in detail how your gas hob ignition triggers the switch-off ? Maybe we can find the cause of the switch-off. It might be as 'simple' as adding a spike filtering capacitor....

20220424_163104 I am going to put this mains-spike filter on the 230 volt of the other plug, to see if that prevents the plug from switch-off.

Have the same issue with a TS011F_plug_1 (20A) with power metering One of my plugs is connected to 500W Ice Machine and never turns off. Another one with a 2000W boiler and normally turns off 2-3 times per day. Needed to make an automation to turn on it back

Does the plug on the 2000W boiler only shut off while the boiler is running, or also when it is idle? I noticed my shutoffs only happen when the devices connected to it are in active use.

hi, I also have 3 of these plugs. Sold as "WENHIOT Zigbee 3.0 Smart Socket EU Plug 16A Tuya" and recognized by zigbee2mqtt as "TuYa | TS011F_plug_1". All 3 turn themself off with no reason at least once a day.

I also made a test and put the plug in the wall socket without anything connected. I turned on the plug using the button and waited. The plug was on for all the day and turned itself off during the night. At this point I don't think it's a problem of overcurrent triggering some kind of protection.

I have to add that one of these self poweroff plugs is used downstream to an "APC Back-UPS 1400" which as I understand in theory should filter any main-spike.
