AI dealing with medical (problems and discussion) #2092

I am quite pleased with how AI now bandage themselves and friendlies when wounded but have noticed a number of problems.

  1. AI often bandage instantly instead of taking cover. Making it easy to finish them off. It seems to me they should move to cover then bandage.
  2. The AI will bandage unconscious allies. A cool and useful feature. However, I have on several occasions been able to kill one enemy after another as they rush over from cover to help. Ive taken out whole crowds this way. I know this is a complex issue that exists in many games but if possible they should try to drag/carry their ally to cover.
  3. I seem to be unable to use the AI controls to tell AI to bandage each other. This can be infuriating. If I am wounded I have to just hope my combat life saver will notice im bleeding to death and come help.
  4. If there is a CLS in the area they should be prioritized in helping the wounded.

Again, I realise these things may be too hard, or even impossible, to fix within the scope of AGM but I wanted to bring them up.

1) is definitely a big problem right now, AI will bandage themselves in the line of fire and it makes them a giant target.

Could write an FSM to handle this so that AI will choose to seek cover first then bandage, but there could be an issue where if someone is running ASR_AI while playing with AGM scripts could conflict right here. Someone would need to write and test with ASR_AI. I personally love ASR_AI and would not give it up. I'd rather have AI flank me and have AI bandage before seeking cover.

Maybe we could ask Robalo if he could help here. I also use ASR, but I know not all people use it.

That would be cool. I dont know much about modding so I'd like some work from someone on how feasible these things are.
