Add link to remote debugger bits in Resources #22

The resources section seems like a good place to have the link. http://code.activestate.com/komodo/remotedebugging/

Update and close https://bugs.activestate.com/show_bug.cgi?id=106443 when both issue 21 and 22 are closed.

Resources is for community contributions, I dont see the relevance. Ideally this would go under the documentation section.. which doesnt exist yet.

What is the point of having this on our website? Why would people come to our website and be like "ahh - remote debugging bits, just what I was looking for".

They're referred to from the docs atm, eg. http://docs.activestate.com/komodo/9.0/debugphp.html#remote_debug_PHP

The messaging definitely needs to be improved but thats an issue with the docs.

I think it's ok to remove code.as.com without replicating the link to the komodo website, unless there is some type of page funnel/flow I'm not aware of?

Are you asking what is the point of having the Komodo remote debugging bits on our website?

Naatan commented 9 years ago

I'm talking specifically about komodoide.com, I'm not suggesting we remove the bits.

They should be linked to from our site but as it stands we do not have a relevant section, it is planned.

I don't see a reason not to do this. Is it really that much work to just add a reference somewhere? I do'nt want to have to dig into PHP debugging everytime i need the remote debugging bits.

How about I add a link "Remote Debug Bits" (cant be too long) in the footer under Support?

It'd be an interim solution until we have a proper documentation section on our site.

th3coop commented 9 years ago

I can't think of any where else that makes sense given that Resources is meant for community driven content. As long as there is a link to point to when people in support are asking. A link in the footer works for me in the interim.

Ok we'll do that.
