Consistent icon on macOS 11 Big Sur

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. The current icon on macOS is perfectly round while all other apps are moving to the squircle design suggested by Apple since the release of the Big Sur betas; this makes Insomnia feel out of place on the platform.

Describe the solution you'd like The app icon on Big Sur should be inside a square with rounded corners to make it feel more consistent with the icons of other apps. Here are some examples:

Could you share it somewhere else? The site you mentioned was hacked and the Insomnia icons are 404 right now.

All the same, is anyone aware of how we would (in electron 9.3.5 which is what we're on now) use a different icon for just big sur?

Posting a zip of the icon I spun up a few months back, in case the macosicons link dies again (--EDIT-- the macosicons link is still dead, so glad I checked up on this issue...). Maintainers, please let me know if you'd like me to cut a PR! Don't want to step on the toes of your design team, though, so if you have one in the works I'll keep in my holding pattern :) Insomnia.icns.zip

Every time I update Insomnia, need to change the icon, posting a zip file with the big sur icon: insomnia-big-sur.zip

The manually updated icon, rendering as low resolution is not related to the image file being low resolution, but rather a bug inside MacOS which has been there for years now.

You can get around it by using apple's .icns format (just convert it). Or opening the image with Preview, then selecting the whole image (⌘+A), copying it and pasting inside the focused (old) icon in the info window (⌘+I on the app in Finder), but this doesn't always work reliably, so I suggest going with the .icns approach.

So while I liked insomnia as a simple and intuitive REST client, I now switched to Postman wich is a far better product imo. And they also use Big Sur style icons🤣
