I've made a tweet unroller, but it seems almost unwise to use the text produced. It may make more sense to actually convert the MD to HTML and then use something like beautiful soup to parse it. Images would be easier to handle, because you'd be able to extract them from the HTML more easily. Also, I wouldn't have to worry about MD parsing for tables or other odd HTML markup.

This could be fixable, since you do capture the album groups for replacement. All you'd have to do use your text chunking code to pull out the albums as well and then maybe keep things as a tuple. Check fi it's iterable and then update status with the images.

One of the issues you run into is that your twitter doesn't show everything in a post when you use bridgy to post.
One thing you could do is post everything in a proprietary way---unrolling a post as a series of replies to make a thread---and then have brid.gy handle the rest.
