Some sort of conflict with the ShowDeathCause mod #13

Death messages with the amount of damage taken no longer appear except in very random and rare instances.

Is it the amount of damage taken that doesn't show? Or the whole message just doesn't show up at all?

Both. By the way I quite enjoy the mod.

I don't really have any leads here and it seems pretty rare and niche so I'm gonna close this for now.

This should be fixed in the next update thanks to DestroyedClone.
