Hi, just installed Doom 3 BFG on my Vive. I am experiencing scrolling issue during Menu setup. I am unable to select anything because scrolling would not stop.

Please help.

Thanks in advance.

From the console ( press ~ to open the console ) type

vr_autoSwitchControllers 0 ( enter) vr_controllerStandard 0 ( enter )

Press ~ again to close the console.

This will disable auto switching between motion controls and any other type of controller ( gamepad etc ) , and make sure the game is set to use motion controls. Let me know if this fixes the issue.

I apologize. I don't quite follow you. After game starts, I pushed ~ key. That did not seem to do anything. Can you be more specific?

Hi, once you select doom 3, and you see the main menu, press '~', ( normally the key to the left of the '1' on your keyboard. You don't need to press shift, just hit the key. ) When you press this key, a text console should drop down over the main menu where you can type commands in. Are you seeing the menus in your headset?

Hi, thanks for the help. I have followed your instructions and type in the commands while inside my headset. However, the problem remain the same. The scrolling continues by itself. I can also use my controller to select. It seems it may be tie to the motion of my headset. Am I the only one with this problem?

I've only seen this type of issue twice. The first time, someone had a gamepad plugged in they weren't using, and something was pressing on one of the controls of the gamepad causing the scrolling. The other time, someone had some hmd->mouse emulation software running in the background causing the issue. Try closing all unnecessary background applications. If headset movement is affecting the menu, this is most likely the issue.

I see this sometimes when it seems the game doesn't detect the release of me pressing up or down on touchpads. Though all I have to do is touch it again then it detects a release of my thumb off the touchpad.
