Key Bindings are terrible on the Valve Index and should be fixed #355

After attempting several times to modify keys that would allow me to change the bindings, I would find bindings that would change on their own and ended up being unable to open the game menu on a headset.

Upon uninstalling and reinstalling the mod, the bindings were still screwed. Attempting to reset the key bindings after reinstalling the mod did nothing, on reinstall, the right joystick would open up the menu (Possibly my fault). Finally if you are in the main menu and haven't started a game, at the main menu screen at start there is no button to reset the key bindings initially, as you can't press the "Reset to Default" when in the main menu screen.

This all started when I noticed that moving the left joystick forward would end up turning the flashlight on and off on the Valve Index. Attempting to change the binding for the flashlight caused further problems that are previously listed.

Would love to play this, but completely broken right now, my only solution is (possibly) delete the local copy of BFG Edition on Steam and reinstall the game and the mod.

Solution: Find a way to allow ALL bindings to be reset when first opening the game, or make it clear on how to do this.

I thing you just need to remove D3BFGConfig.cfg in c:\Users\<<username>>\Saved Games\id Software\DOOM 3 BFG\Fully Possessed\ Here is the config I used, it's for ValveIndex too. I've done a release with some fixes, and I change how inputs are setup, because I found it messy with ValveIndex (some inputs are send twice and resulted to a bad config)

You may check issue #341

Daburnell112 commented 3 years ago

So I went into that folder, the only thing that was there was a vr_something.cfg in the location you specified. The filename that you specified doesn't exist in either the base mod directory nor the save game file directory. I replaced the file in the folder, then tried to boot the game, couldn't get past the main menu. No buttons on the controller would work.
