Crashes at loading screen. Would love a fix :) #360

I previously ran this mod no worries. But after a windows reinstall I have a consistent crash at the loading screen when loading up in VR, doesn't matter if I start a new game or load an existing save. I have done a clean reinstall of the game and the mod to no avail. Using an oculus quest 2. I don't have a texture pack installed and not sure what could be causing the issue. The game boots into the menu just find.

Last time, I see this issue, it was a bad driver configuration. Check that your GPU is the true one, and not the motherboard embedded (don't remenber how to do this, but someone explain it in another issue) You may look at Doom logs, it often says what's wrong

Oh thank you so much. How do I view the logs? And I guess also, how do I check that it's trying to access the right GPU? I've noticed that when I load up Half Life Alyx I get a message that my GPU is not good enough for the game, even though I have a 3080....

And for log :

Here is how to create a logfile:

Create a shortcut to Doom3BFGVR.exe Right click on the shortcut, go to properties. In the target field, add +set logFile 2 to the end - be sure to leave a space after .exe and before +set Click apply, then ok. Double click shortcut to launch the game.

The log file will be stored in c:\users(your user name)\saved games\id software\doom 3 bfg\base\qconsole.log

Post a copy of the log someplace ( pastebin , public Dropbox link etc.).

Okay sweet it's not the gpu as I have a ryzen CPU and there's no inbuilt gpu. I double checked anyway. Just out to dinner but will create a log and post here once I'm back.

This seems relevant: "WARNING: Game was saved with different scripts (a different mod). All scripts will be reset."

So I wonder if its not working because was using the other mod version... Although that doesn't explain why I'm unable to start a new game. I'll try that again and paste the log.

Okay, I booted the game up again, started a new campaign and low and behold the first level loaded. So there's my issue, using an incompatible mod! Good to know and thanks so much for your help.

Annnd after some more messing about I loaded RB Doom and none of my saves show up. So that wasn't my issue either. I think my only option now is to reinstall the game, start a new save and use console commands to advance. There's worse things I suppose!

After using console commands to skip to the level I was up to the game crashes again, so there's something to do with that level

Some levels were buggy, but later in the game. Which level crash ? Have you tried my version ?
