Most of the time I track while doing northern walking. Since the hands are tied to poles, it is hard to operate the PPC, so I'm using a headset to record a voice annotation for each waypoint.

Voice annodations work exactly like georeferenced images: the filedate determines the position. It is probably not difficult to allow loading wav (and possibly mp3) files just like images (they'd show up as a loudspeaker symbol in the geoimgage dock)and play the back either when doubleclicking the waypoint (but better not on single click - this is probably annoying) or clicking their icon.

On most devices the filedate reflects the end of the recording, so the exact time would be (filedate - lenght of recording). JOSM moves the marker while playback according to the calculated speed while the record was taken, but I'd be already happy to get a waypoint at the position where the record started.
