error getting json: json/events.json.php

What steps will reproduce the problem?

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
when I open the plugin, it says "error getting json: json/events.json.php" in 
below each calendar where it should show the events

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
I've opened this plugin in google chrome and firefox

I am getting the same error. I am new to this; is there anything that needs to 
be installed for the plug-in to work.  Even the included sample website gives 
me this error.

Make sure permissions on the json files are 0644 and you don't have any 
htaccess rules causing 403 errors. Both of which caused me the same issue.
