Getting temporal Key items when you shouldn't #8

Date & Time: Feb. 21, 2018 - 16:31 GMT Character Name: Xaver Nation: Bastok/Shouldn't matter Job Info: RDM73/WHM36 Zone Name: Gusgen Mines NPC/Monster/Item Name (If involved.): Several Key Items Position (use !where in game): "???" G-8 (Forgot, sorry) Were you multiboxing/dualboxing?: No Steps to reproduce the issue: Teleport-Holla quest "Healing the land". Complete as normal. when you examine the "???" I got several KI.

Any additional information: I have noticed this happenning with other servers doing missions. they seem to always, or almost always be the same key items

i wasn't able to reproduce this bug. did you confirm that those key items were actually in your key items list? it's possible to get a popup saying you acquired key items but not get the key items

If you are on a client version that does not match the servers expected version you can get textid mismatches which often will show random messages such as obtaining a key item when you didn't actually get one. This happens because the ids are misaligned for your client and instead of saying something with the proper information such as obtaining an item or a quest/mission dialog, you instead may see things like obtaining a key item.

As I said, I have thoose items in my Temporal Key Item list. So this is not a "version mismatch" wrong text ID message. There never was a text indicating I got them. I can post a picture if needed. Also, I did all 3 Teleport quests (Dem, Holla and Mea in that orther). I did not have them before starting Teleport-Holla quest (Teleport-Holla quest gives you a KI when you accept it. I checked list at this moment) and I immediatly got to gusgen mines and checked the "???". Then I checked my Key Item list and there they where.

There is nothing in the script that would cause this to happen nor any mention of the temporal key items you are referring to. The only thing done in the script regarding key items is removing one. (Seal of Banishing)

The only thing I can think is that your client version is causing invalid data to show and the text ids are misaligned that showed you incorrect info when it happened.

What is your client version? (Use /ver in game)

30161227_1 Using the default kupo client instalation, no .dat overwrite nor any kind of mods that could mess with the client in any way.

My guess would be its related to the fact dsp happens to mess sometimes with your Key Items (like deleting them all at times)
