What is it with RLES export? #12

Why is there no RLES export to DDS? Are there any other tools to edit the RLES stuff? I want to change the specular map but right now I see myself unable to get my hands on it..

Sorry but no. S4PE can't handle it right now. As far as I know no such tool is available to edit the RLES resource.

Well it has a preview for it, so how can it not handle it?

Anyway, how do others change the specular maps then? I've seen even custom meshes for Sims 4, it seems kind of hard to believe nobody has any sort of access to RLES files. If you have any idea what others use to grab the DDS inside, I'd be very happy to know... Google hasn't been very kind ;(

There's one part of the resource that I don't understand and is used to mask the specular map. Showing part of the DDS doesn't mean it can be exported/imported perfectly.

As to my knowledge, no one except developers at EA fully understands the format. Maybe the developers at TSR does, but I'm not sure. You can try the normal map, which I believe is used by other creators.
