with the advent of the cluster known as demuxing with the novaseqx, there is so many potential failings that I'm not even going to amuse what they are here, but I would expect that I might have to rip out this entire logic tree and start from scratch...again. In any case, i think one potential fail scenario is when requeuing happens more than 10 times, but i have a feeling that there are other potential scenarios. just going to leave this here for awhile.
