Hello, Is it possible to add some VPN chrome store type extensions to Hitomi? Or inject them into Hitomi from chrome with the cookies or something?

Originally in chrome some website are not working for me unless using special chrome extensions which unblocks them, otherwise I get this error: image

But when It comes to download stuff with Hitomi from those websites, Hitomi doesnt' have those special extensions to bypass blocked website and it fails to establish connection. I tried using Psiphon, but It didn't help the first time and now I can't even connect with it.

I'm using variado's plugins and some plugins don't work due to this.

Any tips what to do?

I found this comment: Based on reports from some of the users, users currently residing in France have indeed been having issues reaching the site.

Blocks like this are usually done on DNS-level, so switching the resolver from the one your ISP provides, to something like 9.9.9.9 (Quad9), 208.67.222.222 (OpenDNS), 1.1.1.1 (CloudFlare), 8.8.8.8 (Google), one of the servers OpenNIC operatates or one that your VPN provider might give. Choose a provider you trust. Or you could just use Tor.

Oh, and the .fr ccTLD has been added on the blocklist of forbidden email providers (email provided upon registration or change of it).

It was thinking longer when using 208.67.222.222 , but in the end I get the same error: ('Connection aborted.', ConnectionResetError(10054, 'An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host', None, 10054, None))

Not sure how Tor can help with Hitomi? I still can browse the website normally, but just not with hitomi

I mean the website is blocked and to access it you just download an extension in crhome store, but hitomi just uses raw browser, so you can't use those extensions, dunno what to do :(

hitomi downloader has the ability to connect via proxy: options-->preferences-->network-->proxy example: host:195.154.184.80 port:8080

If the orange triangle sign appears it means that the proxy is not connected. I don't know how you are connected to the internet -direct connection from your home -a supervised intranet in a company -smartphone mobile network

example: host:195.154.184.80 port:8080

It worked! But now I think this proxy is dead, where I can get those proxies? I tried several porxy lists, but they are all not working, showing triangle

4Sol commented 5 months ago

I even bought a proxy for 1 day IPv6 Japanese, but it did not work (with username and pass)

4Sol commented 5 months ago

Nvm it worked once I restarted Hitomi, both proxy actually

Help, can you advice which proxy type is the best for Hitomi (ipv4/ipv6, which country?) I can't find any good one anymore, just look how it works below: https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/c4d9e92f-f34e-4f75-ad98-9853a7830673 PS: downloading from any website works just like that..
