How to prevent Google Photos backup #97

For some reason, despite 5 years of complaints, Google Photos have still not made it so that you can exclude certain folders from within the DCIM folder so that they are not synced to Google photos. Google Photos considers everything in the DCIM folder to be in the "Camera" folder (particularly frustrating for anyone with a Samsung phone and some other models, that don't want their Screenshot folder synced to Google Photos).

As a result of this, I am getting a 1 second clip from One Second Diary syncing to Google Photos each day when I save a video to the calendar, which is making my photo/video library very messy. Is it possible to save these clips to a different folder outside of the DCIM folder? Otherwise I may have to try and install an auto file transfer app to move the OSD files elsewhere as a workaround.

Unfortunately we can't do that, Google Play enforces the use of DCIM. And it's precisely this "auto backup" that has saved many users videos that accidentally deleted the local files. Have you tried creating a .nomedia file inside OneSecondDiary folder?

Edit: I tested this with a profile folder and can confirm, just put an empty file called .nomedia and Google Photos won't upload your videos.
