Now that configurate 4 has been around for a good few years, I believe the userbase for Configurate 3 is minimal. Configurate 4 has a lot of improvements for serializers, and replicating the same work in two places increases the workload on the team here.
I'd like to stop distributing the configurate 3 versions of the serializers and drop them from our repo in a future release. This would not prevent users from using an older version of the serializers, or prevent interested community members from maintaining that module out of tree and backporting any future changes from the configurate4 implementation.
