Same here, I'm having a black screen BUT with sound. My setup is Sunshine + Playnite on the host, Moonlight on clients. Video & audio works for all other Moonlight clients.

Could you share your sunshine logs ? Are you running HDR ?

guix77 commented 1 year ago

Hi,

Here are my sunshine logs: https://pastebin.com/bE7YdL9g

I don't think I have HDR. You mean, activated in Sunshine? On the host? On the TV?

Thanks!

Problem solved! I just installed the latest nVidia driver!

Awesome, I'm on AMD (That's why i'm using sunshine) so I can't install nvidia drivers.

Same issue here on AMD, both with hardware encoding and with software encoding.

Moonlight on Android from my phone works flawless, but only a black picture with sound on my The Frame 2021 TV.

Here are sunshine.log with debug enabled during an attempt:

Interesting, I wonder if its something to do with the TV as I have the exact same one as you.

I was able to get a picture by setting the correct mime type based on negotiated codec. See: https://github.com/awdAvenger/moonlight-chrome-tizen/commit/1422e5510c63fdcdaaa741d2b3f7f71719e75cae

The issue now is that it freezes after a few seconds. This was when I tested with Steam Big Picture. I don't have much time to work on this, but I will be giving it a few more shots.

Awesome, I can help with anything you need, just tell me what to test etc.

I had the same issue running on an AMD RX 580 I don’t really know how but it resolved by itself. In the beginning the stream would launch to a black screen before stopping itself after a few seconds. Setting sunshine to not advertise HDR resolved the connection terminated but not the black screen. I tried to connect to my laptop (which is running an AMD integrated GPU) and it was working fine with the same config.

After testing a lot of things , I eventually let go before retrying (and reinstalling everything) a few month back, and it was working fine.

A few things I can suggest :

Hope this can help

I managed to get a stream going successfully by simply setting it it 720p/60 at 10 Mbit BW. Not perfect but works until I get the higher res working.

I am having same problem, my computer has a Nvidia GTX 1650 and I cannot see video track but I can hear the audio track. My TV has a Tizen 5.5

catdogmat commented 12 months ago

Awesome, thanks

rylanberton commented 11 months ago

I tried all the suggestions and am still getting a black screen with audio. I have tizen 5.5 as well

Those who are using an AMD GPU, could you try changing AMF RATE CONTROL in sunshine to CBR ?
