Ok now I'm getting intermittent typing abilities. I can type every 30 secs or
so and then nothing for about 30 secs. Can still use mouse mode with controller
the whole time, just not the chatpad.

Just installed chatpad drivers as laid out as closely as I possibly could.
Controller no longer syncs with reciever. Have rebooted and manually resynced
with no luck. The only difference I can see is i had to use vjoy 2.0.4 instead
of 2.0.2 as that's what was available from the link.

I'm having the same issue. After I've installed this, the Wireless Chatpad app seems to work and detect the receiver, but the controller never connects, the LED just blinks, and the app stays perma disabled. No amount of pressing the jewel button does anything.

Brian, are you using a 3rd party receiver?
i held the receiver's button down until it blinks and promptly pressed the control's connection button and it connects. you probably did this already, but this is how it got working for me.
