Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

[x] interpret path even if the files do not locally exist (may be useful for the samplers for instance). [6db9a71cd3e3faaca95de4f48fda3d7e685a972b]
[ ] accept paths to converted recordings too.
[ ] throw an exception if the target profile differs from the profile the audio files belong to
