Question regarding font extraction #27

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. I'm attempting to translate the menu of the amazing games by the japanese developper Ikiki : http://ikiki.la.coocan.jp/himoji/game.htm

Describe the solution you'd like SourceExplorer can already extract images, sounds, musics, shaders... Could it also extract menu texts ?

Describe alternatives you've considered I tried searching in the binary .exe file for raw strings in japanese displayed in the menu, but I could not find any. I guess they are compressed and/or encrypted.

Dumping fonts and strings should be relatively easy. I might even be able to have an option to patch in English alternatives assuming there isn't anything overly hardcoded in the game.

That would be AWESOME ! Can I help with this ?

Any news here ? :) If you give me some pointers, I'd gladly help

Sorry this year has been a mad rush for me so far. I have started looking into this, I've managed to read out the menu chunk and can dump font files fairly easy. I just need to work out how the menu chunk is actually structured so I can dump it in a structured way, and have any hope of reconstructing it with new text. I'll let you know when there's something you can help with.
